Lisa McKay’s love of radio began as child. As an Army brat, she moved every 3 years, making radio her one constant friend. She started her career in radio working at the college station at UVA, and later went on to WJMA, WSPV, WRSF, WRVQ, and then finally WQDR, where she spent fifteen years. As VP of Programming, McKay led by example and took great pride in developing her staff to their full potential and helping WQDR to serve its community proudly. Her successful leadership is reflected through the numerous awards she earned the station, including three CMA Station of the Year awards, two ACM Station of the Year awards, an ACM Personality of the Year award, and Cary Magazine’s Station and Personality of the Year, The North Carolina Broadcasters Station of the Year and Best Community Service Campaign.
