dan hollander - Inducted 2005

Dan Hollander began his radio career as a part time announcer at WKDF, Nashville in 1964, although at the age of ten he was already broadcasting from a small radio station that he and his dad built in his home.. He was again on the air in 1969 on Armed Forces Radio in Iceland, where he was stationed for the US Navy. Later that year he joined WDXE in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, as Program and Music Director. He stayed at WDXE until 1987, at which time he moved to WLLX in the same city in the same capacities. He was Academy of Country Music Disc Jockey of the Year in 1985. He considers his greatest professional accomplishment to be the several fund raising drives to raise money for victims of tornadoes and floods. At the time of his induction, Dan was on the air weekdays from 12:30 -5:30 pm on WLLX-FM and WWLX-AM. Dan Hollander was inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame in 2005.
